Rain Screen Design
Rain Screen Design is a twofold approach used to control rain penetration into interior walls. The first line of defense minimizes rain passage by blocking leaks. The second defense intercepts all water allowing it to dissipate to the exterior

VaproShield has created multiple systems and components to support rain screen design, a multiple element approach to control rain penetration into exterior walls.

VaproShield breathable membranes, WrapShield and WallShield provide waterproof protection, reducing the risk of condensation and promote the escape of moisture through the envelope. These properties allow drying during and after construction, reducing the risk of exposure damage and poor indoor air quality.

Open Joint Rain Screen Design Components include VaproBatten and VaproVent Strip. VaproBatten is a direct replacement for pressure treated plywood or treated lumber furring or battens.

Combined with WallShield or WrapShield, this system creates a very effective, yet simple rain screen design, further supporting healthy interiors and building performance. VaproShield 3D Window Flashing Elements include factory-formed corners for windows and doors. Installation costs are reduced and possible penetration points are covered.
