Goose Creek Correctional Center, Alaska

Goose Creek Correctional Facility used over 48,000 ft2 of WRAPSHIELD®. The product needed to be able to stand up to the Alaskan weather, including 70 mph winds, and stay dry while pumping in moisture due to propane fueled heat, so WRAPSHIELD® was chosen.

WRAPSHIELD®

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Over 48,000 ft2 of WRAPSHIELD® was installed on three buildings in the Goose Creek Correctional Facility. WRAPSHIELD® was chosen because it combines the best properties of a vapor permeable membrane and an air barrier in one innovative affordable product.

With a rating of 50 perms, WRAPSHIELD® provides the highest vapor permeability in a commercial quality air barrier breather membrane. WRAPSHIELD® was installed directly over steels studs and even with the amount of moisture being pumped in via propane fueled heat, the inside surface stays completely dry.

Goose Creek Correctional Center will include 430,000 SF of buildings on a 135-acre cleared compound. The expected completion date is December of 2011.
