ARCHITECT CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT VAPROSHIELD INSTALLER VAPROSHIELD REPRESENTATIVE PRODUCTS PROJECT DESCRIPTION VaproShield representative, Greg McAloney of W.H. Steele Co., Inc., guided the University Facilities Department as they addressed the water barrier specifications and selected WallShield rather than the typical "peel and stick" barriers used on previous buildings. The project required over 55,000 square feet of WallShield with VaproFlashing Black. Over 18,000 square feet is behind Stone Panels and over 36,000 square feet behind Trespa Meteon panels. The general contractor decided to have one installer handle the stone panels, and Division Eight was responsible for the Trespa panels while Johnson Barnes Finch (JBF) was responsible for installing VaproShield's WALLSHIELD® and the VAPROFLASHINGTM BLACK materials behind all the panels. In order to help with the installation, McAloney coordinated pre-installation meetings in August and September 2005 and provided a substantial jobsite mock up in March 2006. As installation progressed, McAloney visited the site weekly, answering questions and giving recommendations throughout the process. The Board of Regents approved the project's design and certified the Environmental Impact Report in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act. |
