VaproAluma Tape
VaproAluma Flashing Tape is designed for use on buildings, as a jointing tape and as a protective flashing or transitional layer for all VaproShield membranes.

VaproAluma FLASHING TAPE

Widths: 4” and 9”
Our new VaproAluma Flashing Tape is UV stable and adheres to virtually all surfaces. It is moisture proof, helping create an air barrier when installed with our membranes. The thick aluminum backing combined with our advanced MicroSealant creates an ideal flashing or transitional surface. VaproAluma Flashing Tape remains flexible in temperatures as low as -70°F making it virtually impossible to cause thermal shock.

Bonding

VaproTape UV White bonds to a wide
range of materials including:

carbon steel
aluminum
sigle-ply roofing
galvanized steel
aluminum foil
gypsum board
wood
rubber
tar
polyethylene
polystyrene
fiberglass
brick
concrete
masonry
thermoplastics

BASIC USE

VaproAluma Flashing Tape is designed for use on buildings, as a protective flashing layer or transitional layer where some window manufacturers recommend silicone to be adhered to the membrane. VaproAluma-Flashing Tape seals to itself so it can be cut and folded around an object.

COMPOSITION

VaproAluma-Flashing Tape utilizes advanced MicroSealant Technology; a 100 percent solids formulation of synthetic resins, thermoplastics and non-curing rubber (non-butyl) with a built-in primer. The microsealant is bonded to an aluminum metal backing. The adhesive coating is protected by a silicone release liner, which is removed prior to application.

INSTALLATION

Surface Preparation

Surface must be clean and dry. Remove moisture,
dust, dirt, salt, contaminants and other foreign
matter. Remove oil and grease, etc. with a
non-residue cleaner such as acetone or lacquer
thinner.

Application

Tape can be applied to clean dry surfaces from
150°F to -20°F ambient.
For installations from 40°F to -20°F ambient treat
surface with VaproPrimer.

  • To prevent contamination, gradually remove the release liner prior to application.
  • Do not stretch tape during installation.
  • Roll with hand pressure or a steel roller to activate
    bonding process.
